Individuals or Companies Organizing Food Drives
You can contribute to the fight against hunger by organizing a canned food drive on behalf of your school, faith-based organization or other group. Please keep in mind, however, that a virtual food drive allows the North Texas Food Bank to deliver food more efficiently by eliminating costs such as deliveries. For questions related to virtual food drives, please contact Jessica Howell at 214-270-2054 or JessicaH@ntfb.org.

Food Donations from the Grocery Industry
Every year, millions of pounds of food and grocery items go to waste in Texas. But what can the grocery industry do when the wrong vegetables are in the mix or juice is dated incorrectly? The solution is donate to NTFB.

NTFB serves as a distribution channel for surplus inventories. Through a network of agencies, we provide a safe and efficient system for distribution and bring hunger relief to North Texas.

  • Our staff is trained in safe food handling
  • The Good Samaritan Act protects food donors from liability
  • Our trucks and trailers are dock height and refrigerated
  • We provide complete product tracking and recall capabilities
  • We provide accurate and timely receipting and pick up services

We can handle: production overruns, off-specification products, mislabeled or unlabeled packages, discontinued brands, bulk, private-label brands, salvage, reformulation, customer returns, test product inventory, seasonal items, produce, over-the-counter items, food service, health and beauty aids, household items and prepared and perishable foods.

To find out how you can save money, eliminate waste, donate goods and help bring hunger relief to North Texans, please contact Lauren Banta, our Corporate Engagement Manager, Food Industry Partnerships, at 214.347.9611 or by email at laurenb@NTFB.org.
