North Texas Giving Day

"Hip, Hip Hooray – 1,000,000 meals on North Texas Giving Day" - September 17 North Texas Giving Day is an online giving event organized by the Communities Foundation of Texas. In just five years, North Texas Giving Day has pumped more than $60 million into the North Texas community. In 2014 our friends came together and raised $381,101 for the North Texas Food Bank, which allowed us to provide access to 1.14 million meals for hungry North Texans. Let’s beat last year by providing access to 1.5 million meals on North Texas Giving Day to hungry children, families and seniors in 2015.  Make a donation to the North Texas Food Bank between 6am and midnight on September 17.

Bringing Hope to the Table
November - December, 2015

For the past 30 years, Kroger’s family of stores has worked closely with Feeding America and its network of local food banks to bring food, funds and hands-on assistance to hunger relief efforts in the communities where our customers and associates live and work. Working side-by-side with more than 80 local food banks, we see first-hand how great the need is in the communities we share. Additional details from Feeding America are to come.

Charity Miles
Ongoing

Feeding America has been chosen as a beneficiary of the newest app, Charity Miles.

Charity Miles is a new free iPhone and Android app that enables people to earn money for charity while walking, running or biking. The app is free and simple to use; just launch the app, choose a charity and either walk, run or bike! The selected charity then earns money for every mile covered. Walkers and runners earn 25¢ per mile and bikers earn 10¢ per mile, all up to an initial $1,000,000.

Charity Miles, LLC is backing the initial $1,000,000 and issuing a worldwide challenge to see if people can earn it for the charities within a year. Funds will be dispersed to food banks based on zip codes.
